HTTPS

HTTPS is the encrypted variant of the protocol the browser uses to communicate with a site. It ensures that data (for example from forms) is not read or changed along the way. You recognise it by "https" and the padlock in the address bar.

Today HTTPS is an absolute standard, its absence causes browser warnings and a lower Google position. It requires a valid SSL certificate.
