We check the reputation of a domain and its server against the major spam blacklists (DNSBL). Being listed is a common cause of mail landing in spam and warnings that a site is dangerous.
We make only public DNS queries to reputation lists. We do not log the domains checked.
What are blacklists (DNSBL) and why do they matter?
DNSBL lists are registries of IP addresses and domains that have sent spam or taken part in attacks. Mail providers and browsers use them: if your server or domain gets listed, emails start landing in spam and visitors may see a warning. The most common cause is an infected site quietly sending spam.
